Event Overview
The Edmonton conference will be held at the Fantasyland Hotel, Edmonton, September 25–26, 2026. Substitute teachers should not attend the Beginning Teachers' Conference but should plan to attend the Substitute Teachers' Conference, October 16(eve)-17, 2026. (Substitute Teachers' Conference | Alberta Teachers' Association).
Registration is open to teachers in their first two years of classroom teaching who have not previously attended the conference and those teachers new to teaching in the province. Early registration is appreciated as space is limited. Teachers who live in Red Deer and north should register for the Edmonton conference. Teachers who live south of Red Deer should register for the Calgary conference at https://reg.unityeventsolutions.com/se/2026BTCCALGARY/ATT.
Full participation on both days is expected to ensure registrants receive the greatest benefit from the conference.
Teachers in charter, federal and private schools must be associate members of the Association to be eligible to attend the Beginning Teachers Conference.
Please work with your school principal, school jurisdiction and local association to facilitate substitute teacher coverage for your attendance at the Beginning Teachers' Conference.
